Veneers are shells that are applied to the front of your teeth. They can help you hide imperfections or further elevate your smile. The process of getting veneers may differ from place to place, but this time the focus will be on the White Bite Veneers and The White Bite reviews.
What are The White Bite Veneers?
The White Bite is a full service dental clinic located on the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia. It offers a variety of high quality dental services at a low cost. Their services include veneers, crowns, teeth whitening, bridging, orthodontics, and amalgam or “mercury” fillings removal, but this time the focus will be on the veneers.
Dental veneers are thin shells that are placed on top of your natural tooth after part of its enamel is removed to make space. In general, traditional veneers are made from either porcelain or composite resin. These are also the 2 main types of veneers offered in the White Bite Clinic.
The popular choice is usually porcelain veneers, as they last the longest and have a more natural look. Although they are more on the expensive side (more on the cost later). Veneers can be a great choice if you have teeth that have gaps you’re not happy about or are
- darkened or discolored
- Crooked and uneven
- Chipped/worn down
How do The White Bite Veneers work?
The number of appointments needed for the procedure, in general, can be different from clinic to clinic. At White Bite, the number of necessary visits may vary depending on the type and number of veneers you plan on getting. Generally, there are 2 main appointments, and in between them, they would fabricate and polish the final veneers.
First appointment
During the first appointment, the dentist prepared my teeth by drilling a little bit of enamel off of them so the veneers would have a place to stay on. Afterwards, they made impressions of the prepared teeth, the opposing ones, and the gap between the upper and lower teeth lines (the occlusal relationships).
After that, we selected a shade that matched my other teeth and fabricated a temporary restoration that would be used until my veneers were fully prepared. Once that’s done, the impressions are then made into veneers, get polished, and it’s time for the second appointment.
Second appointment
After some time, the actual veneers were prepared, and the temporary ones got removed. After that, the doctor carefully bonded the final veneers to the teeth and checked that the occlusal relationships were correct. Overall, the experience was quite pleasant.

Effectiveness and quality of the White Bite Veneers
Getting veneers is a permanent procedure, as it entails that part of your tooth (enamel) will need to be removed. However, veneers don’t last forever, even with intense care. Therefore, the lifespan of veneers can vary depending on the material and the expertise of the doctor.
Materials
The veneer options offered at the White Bite Clinic are porcelain veneers and composite resin veneers. Both of these materials are the go-to choice for veneers and have their pros and cons.
Composite veneers are more porous than porcelain or natural teeth and can absorb water. They are often made of plastic or synthetic resin and need to be highly polished to look natural. On the other hand, once porcelain is glazed, it loses porosity, so porcelain veneers are quite resistant to chipping and staining.
Durability
Of the two available options, porcelain veneers are much more durable than composite resin veneers due to the type of material they are made of. Porcelain veneers can often last up to 10 years and even more if properly taken care of. On the other hand, composite veneers usually last only about 3-5 years and can easiky get stained and chipped.
Comfort
Veneers are generally comfortable to wear, although it may take a bit of time to get used to them. In addition, veneers are usually less invasive than crowns, so the impact on the sensitivity of your teeth shouldn’t be too much.
Colours
Porcelain veneers look the most natural in sunlight, and before they are applied, the doctor checks that the fit and colour seamlessly blend with your other teeth. Due to the material, composite resin ones might not look as natural as porcelain veneers, but they are less expensive. Before making a decision, ask your dentist to show you both options to know beforehand how they might look.
